University of Montreal, Faculty of Nursing

“Take part in a unique experience with clinical simulation activities and learn about the latest technologies equipment in the students’ classrooms at the Centre EXeSS.”

The Simulation Program of the Faculty of Nursing of the Université de Montréal (PSFSIUM) offers clinical simulation activities in an innovative and unique center, the Centre d’EXpertise en Simulation de la Santé (Centre EXeSS), FSI, UdeM. Students participate in simulation scenarios that replicate the situations that will constitute the daily life of these future professionals. The combined use of this state-of-the-art equipment ensures optimal conditions for the development of nursing skills to respond to a wide variety of learning situations, the EXeSS Centre has a variety of facilities: low and medium fidelity simulation rooms; high fidelity simulation rooms and relational learning rooms. The EXeSS Centre’s team is comprised of the Director, 7 simulation instructors and 3 simulation technicians.

CHUM (Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal)

“Take a tour at the CHUM and be exposed to the most impressive and innovative practices in Quebec’s hospitals.”

A nurse guide will accompany you throughout one of North America’s largest and newly constructed medical establishments, totaling 348 709 m2. The 3-hour tour will feature various points of interest, highlighting the hospital’s most impressive and innovative sites that have been designed to support and facilitate the daily activities of its nurses and medical teams.
Sites will include the state-of-the-art operatories, simulation lab, library, underground circuits for distribution of medical supplies via automated vehicles, logistics lobby, specialized units, clinics and services such as the burn-victims unit, the Network flow optimization center and coordination of intensive care beds in Quebec (COOLSI). Presentations on some of our most innovative nursing practices will also be featured during the visits.

Ingram School Of Nursing – McGill University

“Explore the Igram School of Nursing at McGill University and two of its shelters in downtown where nurses help various individual in need”

Located in the heart of downtown Montreal, the Ingram School of Nursing offers a broad range of programs at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. Unique offerings include our BNI (Bachelor of Nursing Integrated) Online modality – Quebec’s first fully remote program – as well as Canada’s first and only direct-entry to nursing practice at the master’s level for students with a Bachelor’s degree in a field other than nursing. Numbering close to 100 people, our dynamic faculty and staff bring the richness of their cultural backgrounds to the School. Students bring an international flavor to the School as well. In 2020-2021, 16% of first-year students who filled out a diversity survey came to McGill from countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.

MUHC (McGill University Health Centre)

“Come visit one of the largest modern hospitals in Quebec and participate in simulation activities!”

Constructed in 2015, the MUHC Glen site is one of the largest modern hospital sites in Quebec, totalling 232,257.6 m2. The Glen site is one of several hospitals which make up the MUHC. The guided tour will showcase innovative and state-of-the-art features of the MUHC Glen site that support our varied patient populations as well as our healthcare staff, and medical and surgical teams. Areas of interest include adult and pediatric specialized care units, operating suites including the Experimental Operating Room, McConnell Resource center (medical library), Center of Innovative Medicine (RI-MUHC), clinics, etc. Once a tour of the site has been completed, guests will be able to participate in simulation activities or attend presentations.
